In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
Fishing was overall slow. The conditions have improved some since yesterday. There should be some Bluefish and bottom fish caught.

The winds are NE at 6 and the water temp is 73 degrees. Light winds, choppy water, sunny.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported some keeper Trout, nice size Spot, small Flounder and Croakers.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: few Blues and a few Spadefish.
Nags Head: Some Blues from the end of the pier on gotcha’s.
Jennette’s: Bluefish, Flounder, Sand Perch and Sea Mullet.
Outer Banks: Mullet and Croaker.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Despite the choppy water conditions the nearshore fleet had a good day catching Spanish, Albacore, Amberjacks, Triggers, Bluefish and Red Drum releases. The inshore anglers also had Red Drum releases, and had fantastic Trout fishing, some Flounder and Sea Mullet.

Offshore Boats Report:
A variety of fish were thrown on the docks yesterday. There were Yellowfin, some Blackfin, Trophy size Big-eye, citation Wahoo and Dolphin as well. Also some White Marlin releases.

The winds are NE at 12 and the water temp is 66 degrees. Windy, choppy ocean, partly sunny.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Trout, Croakers, Spot small Flounder and Black Drum.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Blues and Sea Mullet.
Nags Head: Puffers and Bluefish
Jennette’s: Sea Mullet, Croaker, Sand Perch, Bluefish and Spot.
Outer Banks: Spot, Puffers and Sea Mullet. Water temp is 73 degrees.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
No Report.

Offshore Boats Report:
Fleet stayed home yesterday.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
We had torrential rains yesterday and thunder and lightning that would move you away from the windows. We have also had early morning rain today. So the piers are having a slow start. Anglers worked around the rain yesterday and caught Flounder, Bluefish and some small Croakers, Sea Mullet and Spot.

The winds are SW at 12 and the water temp is 62 degrees. Scattered thunder storms, flat glassy ocean.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported throwback Trout and bottom fish.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Slow.
Nags Head: Slow.
Jennette’s: Croaker, Sand Perch, Bluefish, Sea Mullet and Spot.
Outer Banks: Slow.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Nearshore caught and released Red Drum, had a good amount of Spanish and Bluefish. Inshore anglers caught Trout, Flounder and plenty Stripers.

Offshore Boats Report:
The fleet managed to work around the tough thunderstorms yesterday and caught a fair number of Yellowfin, Blackfin and Big-eyes. Another monster 200 lb Big-eye was caught. There were also Blue Marlin, White Marlin and Sailfish releases.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
Surf fishing was slow with just a few Spot and Sea Mullet scattered.
Hugh Parnell took the advice from TW’s and caught a cooler of Bluefish 400 yards off the beach in front of the Lighthouse, South Nags Head. He was fishing with Clark Spoons. Always a good idea to stop in TW’s and talk to the guys. You could be surprised to what you might learn. (Picture).

The winds are SE at 9 and the water temp is 73 degrees. Overcast, light winds, calm Ocean.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Trout, some keepers, Spot and Croakers.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Slow.
Nags Head: Spot, Blues and Sea Mullet
Jennette’s: Sea Mullet, Flounder, Spot, Sand Perch and Bluefish.
Outer Banks: Lots of small Blues and Spot, Pigfish.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Nearshore caught big numbers of Bluefish, Spanish, some King Mackerel, Drum releases and Tilefish. Inshore boats had heavy Trout action; some 22 inches with keeper Flounder as well.

Offshore Boats Report:
The blue water fleet caught their limits of Yellowfin, Blackfin, and good numbers of Big-eyes weighing up to 130 lbs. Also caught Wahoo, one whopping 93 pounder. It was an awesome billfish day with plenty of Blue and White Marlin releases plus Sailfish.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
Surf fishing anglers caught Bluefish, Sea Mullet and Spot.

The winds are NE 8 at 12 and the water temp is 67 degrees. Sunny, winds are light and small choppy waves.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported the Trout fishing has picked up this morning with a few keeper Trout already caught, also some Spot and Croakers.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Good Bluefish bite and Sea Mullet.
Nags Head: Bluefish and Spot
Jennette’s: Croaker, Sand Perch and Bluefish.
Outer Banks: Croakers and Spot.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
The nearshore boats reported good numbers of Spanish and Bluefish. Inshore caught Stripers and Speckle Trout.

Offshore Boats Report:
The fleet had good Yellowfin catches, some citations, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo and a few Dolphin. There were also White Marlin releases.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
The surf fishing has been pretty steady the last couple of days with anglers beaching Sea Mullet, Spot, small Blues and Croaker.

The winds are SW at 10 and the water temp is 64 degrees. Partly cloudy, flat water, calm winds.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported slow. Some Trout and bottom fish.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Spot and Croaker.
Nags Head: Pan size Bluefish. Good bite.
Jennette’s: Bluefish, Spot, Croaker and Sand Perch
Outer Banks: Pompano

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Nearshore trolling boats caught plenty of Spanish and Bluefish. Dolphin bite has been good in site of land. Inshore anglers are catching Trout, sound Stripers and Drum. Sheepshead catches has been constant around the bridge pilings both Bonner Bridge and Mann’s Harbor Bridge for some time now.

Offshore Boats Report:
The offshore fleet continues to have good catches of Yellowfin and Blackfin. There were a few Dolphin caught as well. Also Blue Marlin and White Marlin releases.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
A few Sea Mullet and small Bluefish reported along with Skate and Dogfish.

The winds are NE at 6 and the water temp is 66 degrees. Cloudy, flat Ocean, no wind.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported slow. A few Trout, Stripers and bottom fish. Water is too still, not moving.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Spot and Sea Mullet.
Nags Head: Croakers.
Jennette’s: Blues and Croakers.
Outer Banks: Spot and Pompano. Menhaden in the water, thick around all piers.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Nearshore anglers had a spectacular day catching citation Red Drum ranging from 46. 4 in to 50.3 in and many in between. Nearshore also reported Bluefish, Spanish, Albacore and Sea Bass. Inshore caught good numbers of Bluefish, some Spanish, Specks and Sound Striper. The Miss Oregon Inlet headboat caught their usual bottom fish.

Offshore Boats Report:
Another good day for the blue water fleet. The Marlin and Sailfish flags were flying. Large Big-eye were caught weighing in up to 159 lbs. Yellowfin, Blackfin, some good size Wahoo and a few Dolphin also were decked.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
There were Bluefish, Spot and nice size Sea Mullet scattered.

The winds are SW at 2 and the water temp is 70 degrees. Overcast, light winds, small swell.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported a keeper Flounder, some keeper Trout and bottom fish.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Early morning Bluefish and Sea Mullet.
Nags Head: Spot, Sea Mullet, Bluefish, Dogfish, Skate and Crabs.
Jennette’s: Sea Mullet, Pompano, Bluefish, Flounder and Triggers
Outer Banks: Bluefish.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
The near shore fleet had a great day catching big Trophy size Drum. There were good numbers of Spanish and Bluefish, Tilefish, Amberjack and Sea Bass as well. Inshore also caught big Drum, Speckle Trout, Sea Mullet and a few Spanish. The Head Boat had good action deckling Spot, Croaker, Puffers, Sea Mullet, Flounder, Pig and Pins.

Offshore Boats Report:
Offshore fleet had an excellent day with mammoth size Big-eye tuna weighing up to 187 lbs, large Wahoo weighing in up to 71 lbs. Also some Blackfin Tuna and limits of Yellowfin.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
A few small Trout, Sea Mullet and small Spot.

The winds are SE at 1 and the water temp is 70 degrees. Sunny, light winds, small swells.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported some keeper Trout, Black Drum, Flounder, Croaker, throwback Stripers.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Spot and Bluefish.
Nags Head: Spot and Bluefish.
Jennette’s: Spadefish, Bluefish and Flounder.
Outer Banks: Bluefish. Had a good run of Spanish and Bluefish late afternoon yesterday.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Nearshore boats had an awesome day catching Spanish, Triggers, King Mackerel, good numbers of Blue fish and Tilefish. Inshore had sound Stripers, good Trout fishing and released over the slot Drum.

Offshore Boats Report:
Offshore had a good day catching Yellowfin, Blackefin, some gaffer Dolphin and hefty Wahoo weighing up to 59 lbs. There were Blue and White Marlin releases and Sailfish as well.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
The ocean and winds have calmed down considerably. The Spot, Croakers, Sea Mullet and yes even some Bluefish should be biting soon. Send pictures and news.

The winds are N at 5 and the water temp is 71 degrees. Sunny, nice swell, surfers are out, light variable winds. Watch for rip currents.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported a good day yesterday and today. Anglers catching Trout, Stripers, Black Drum Spot, Drum and Flounder.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Sea Mullet, Spot, and Croakers.
Nags Head: Spot.
Jennette’s: Croakers, Sea Mullet, Flounder, Spadefish, Sand Perch and Bluefish.
Outer Banks: Bluefish up to 14 in using gotchas caught at first light. A few Sea Mullet also early.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Boaters reported Trout, Drum and Flounder in the Roanoke sound and Croatan sound

Offshore Boats Report:
Rough Seas and Blustery winds have kept the offshore charters from fishing the last several days.
