In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
The weather is a problem for the surf fishing anglers. A few Spanish were reported at the Cape and some Sea Mullet and Pompano from the beaches in Buxton. A few Trout and Bluefish were reported on the north beaches.

The NE wind is at 20 and the water temp is 63 degrees. Rough Ocean, high winds and rain.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway is your best bet today.

Pier Fishing Report:
Pier fishing is slow.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
The inshore boats caught a few Cobia.

Offshore Boats Report:
Another good day for the charters reaching their limits of Yellowfin with some gaffers included. There were Mahi and Blackfin as well

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
Surf fishing was fair. The Buxton beaches caught Sea Mullet and Spanish. The Cape caught the same with Bluefish thrown in the mix. Around the Frisco beaches were Puppy Drum, Sea Mullet and Bluefish. On this side of the bridge, a few Trout, Sea Mullet and some Blow Toads.
The E wind is at 12 and the water temp is 60 degrees. Water is clear, a little chop, overcast, expecting thunderstorms, and mild wind.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported some bottom fish and a good Trout bite early this morning.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Bluefish and Sea Mullet.
Nags Head: Trout and Bluefish.
Jennette’s: Bluefish and Sea mullet.
Outer Banks: Trout, a 20 in was caught and Bluefish.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
The Cobia bite is still on. Inshore boats are decking some Drum, Flounder. The Speckle Trout action is really good. Such nice size Trout are being caught. The Headboat anglers are catching citation Sea Mullet.

Offshore Boats Report:
Plenty of Dolphin, loads of Tuna and massive size Big-eyes weighing up to 132 lbs. There was also a White Marlin release. It’s getting to be that time of the year.
The SW wind is at 17 and the water temp is 55 degrees.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
Lots of Bluefish and Spanish were caught on Sting Silvers at Cape Point. Sea Mullet scattered and some nice Sheepshead up to 6 lbs reported. Frisco anglers caught Sea Mullet and Blow toads. The water is clear today. It should be a good Trout and Bluefish day.
The E wind is at 7 and the water temp is 61 degrees. Overcast, light wind, flat choppy clear water.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Trout, a few keepers, a keeper Flounder, some small Spot and Stripers.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Bluefish.
Nags Head: Bluefish and Trout.
Jennette’s: Good numbers of Bluefish, Sea Mullet and Gray Trout.
Outer Banks: Bluefish and Sea Mullet. Caught a 30 in Cobia and lost one yesterday.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
It was another spectacular Cobia day for inshore and nearshore boats. Neashore also caught Spanish and Bluefish.

Offshore Boats Report:
Anglers fishing offshore hauled in limits of Yellowfin, a few Dolphin and Blackfin.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
The south beaches had some Sea mullet and Bluefish. The point caught some Puppies, Bluefish and a good run of Sea Mullet. On this side of the bridge there were scattered Sea Mullet, Bluefish and Trout. Ross Pinkett caught a 38 in chopper Bluefish in Nags Head. Courtney Soper moved to the sound side to do her fishing and caught 2 nice Largemouth Bass.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported still a little slow with a few Trout and Stripers.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Big run of Bluefish this morning before daylight to 8;30. A few still biting.
Nags Head: Slow.
Jennette’s: Sea Mullet, Bluefish, a Puppy Drum and have sightings of  Cobia in the water.
Outer Banks: Trout, Sea Mullet and Blow Toads. Great Bluefish bite yesterday casting gotchas.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
It was another good Cobia day inshore and nearshore.

Offshore Boats Report:
The offshore fleet returned with limits of Yellowfin, plenty of Dolphin and some Blackfin.

The W wind is at 8 and the water temp is 59 degrees. Another chilly morning, light wind, no surf.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
A few small Puppy Drum and some yearlings were caught at the Point. Avon reported some Puppy Drum. There were catches of Sea Mullet, Croakers and small Bluefish on the south and north beaches. A couple of Puppy Drum were caught north of the Bridge. Also the Skate were plentiful.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported small Trout, overall slow.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: A puppy Drum, Puffers and few Sea Mullet.
Nags Head: Blues, Trout, Sea Mullet and Spot.
Jennette’s: Good run of Bluefish, Sea Mullet and Sand Perch
Outer Banks: A few Bluefish on metal, Puffers and Trout, one keeper.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Cobia fishing was fantastic yesterday. Good numbers of citations were caught.

Offshore Boats Report:
It was another bumpy ride for the fleet but they brought in great catches of Yellowfin and some Dolphin and Blackfin.

The N wind is at 6 and the water temp is 55 degrees. Sunny, calm wind, clear water with slight chop.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
There were only a few people fishing yesterday. The only news was a few puppies and yearling drum were caught at the point.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported small Trout.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Few Spot and Sea Mullet
Nags Head: Slow.
Jennette’s: Gray Trout, Sea Mullet, Puffers, Pigs and Pins.
Outer Banks: Some Blow Toads and Sea Mullet.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
No report

Offshore Boats Report:
No boats out yesterday. Today looks promising.

The WNW wind is at 15 and the water temp is 54 degrees. Sunny, hard offshore winds, murky water.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
We had wretched weather all day. Anything today would be an improvement. A few Bluefish and Drum were caught late afternoon at the point. The Ocracoke Invitational Tournament finished up yesterday and I have the results. The Hooligan’s Marauders team won overall and the Queen Mackerels won the ladies division.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported small Trout and Pins.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Skate and Sea Mullet.
Nags Head: Slow.
Jennette’s: Slow.
Outer Banks: Some Spot and Sea Mullet.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
No report

Offshore Boats Report:
The offshore boats stayed in the creek.

The SW wind is at 17 and the water temp is 55 degrees. Sunny, windy, pm showers, decent waves for the ESA Regional Surf contest today and tomorrow.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
Cape Point had good Bluefish catches on metal and cut bait. Buxton beaches caught slot Puppy Drum, Flounder, Bluefish and a 24 in Cobia from the surf. There were Trout caught in KDH yesterday and some Sea Mullet, small Bluefish and Croaker scattered along our beaches.
I received my first wild Turkey picture of the season. The wild Turkey season ends tomorrow but you can still stop in and check out our hunting supplies.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported slow but some Trout and Bluefish this morning.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Sea Mullet.
Nags Head: Slow.
Jennette’s: Sea Mullet.
Outer Banks: Slow.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
The inshore caught Bluefish and Spanish. Cobia fishing has been outstanding the last several days and I have pictures of some beauties this morning.

Offshore Boats Report:
The wind has been rough on the bluewater fleet. They still brought home some nice Yellowfin, a few Dolphin, Shark and Wahoo.

The S wind is at 25 and the water temp is 60 degrees. Hard winds, sweeping S wind swells, chocolate water, overcast, thunder storms expected.

In Summary:

Surf Fishing Report:
Bluefish and Puppy Drum were caught in Buxton; Cape Point reported Sea Mullet, Puppy Drum and Flounder. Frisco reported nice Flounder and Bluefish from their beaches. A few Sea Mullet and small Trout on the northern beaches. There are big Trout and Bluefish biting in KDH. A couple of citations have been weighed in this morning. Picture tomorrow.

The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Trout and Bluefish.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Sea Mullet. Coat weather on the piers.
Nags Head: Small Trout.
Jennette’s: Sea Mullet.
Outer Banks: A good run of Sea Mullet.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Inshore boats had a good day catching Bluefish and Spanish. Nearshore also caught Spanish and Bluefish along with some catches of Cobia.

Offshore Boats Report:
The offshore fleet caught some Yellowfin, King Mackerel and nice Dolphin. A 61 lb citation Wahoo was caught. The talk of the day was Cobia. Many Cobia were in the water and there were good catches. There was trophy Cobia weighed in at 67 lbs.

The E wind is at 15 and the water temp is 60 degrees. Sunny, small choppy swell, muddy near shore, clearing, windy.

In Summary:

Fishing Report:
Because of the high winds yesterday I have no report from the beaches. Fishing should pick up today with the NW winds.
OBX pier is catching Blues, Sea Mullet, and lots of Skate. Jennette’s has Sea Mullet, Blues, Pig Fish and Trout. Nags Head pier is catching Trout, Sea Mullet and Blues. Avalon reported Trout, Spot, Sea Mullet and Drum this morning.
Little Bridge is catching some Trout today and some Bluefish.
All the boats stayed tied to the docks yesterday.

The NW is at 12 and the water temp is 56 degrees. Sunny, calm winds, small clean swell.
